The MNCAR Association is a non-profit association that provides you with:

• Member pricing on MNCAR events and the MNCAR Exchange;

• Name, photo, and contact info on "Find a Broker" link on MNCAR.org;

• Name, photo, and bio on member roster;

• Promotional emails on MNCAR events;

• FOCUS monthly E-newsletter;

• Numerous networking opportunities

The MNCAR Exchange is the commercial real estate industry's property database that provides you with the ability to:

• Search more than 7,000 listings and 29,000 properties;

• Reach 1000+ brokers using a targeted Broadcast Email System;

• List and market properties you are representing;

• Generate high quality, professional-looking reports;

• Access more than 45,000 verified Sales Comps.

You must be a member of a REALTOR® Association in order to use the MNCAR Exchange.  If you already are a member of a REALTOR® Association, then joining the MNCAR Association is optional.  If you are not a member of a REALTOR® Association, then you must join the MNCAR Association in order to gain access to the MNCAR Exchange.

No. These are two separate memberships.

PRIMARY REALTOR®: A full member of the association. The broker of your company must be a primary or secondary member. When you join MNCAR as a primary REALTOR® member, you also join the state and national associations in addition to MNCAR, the local association.

SECONDARY REALTOR®: A member that holds membership with another local REALTOR® board or association. If you pay dues to another association, you can be a ‘secondary’ member with MNCAR. You can join as secondary any association regardless of where the broker belongs. Secondary members receive the same benefits as primary REALTOR® members; they only pay the local dues to MNCAR.

AFFILIATE: Can be licensed but don’t have to be. You have an interest in commercial real estate, but are not licensed. You receive the same benefits as primary and secondary REALTOR® members, except access to the MNCAR Exchange. Affiliate members cannot have access to the MNCAR Exchange. 

COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AFFILIATE: These members, while not engaged directly in real estate profession, are recognized as being community and/or economic development professionals who are engaged in the attraction, retention, or expansion of the economic base of the region, and have interests requiring information concerning commercial real estate data. This is the only type of Affiliate membership who is eligible to use the MNCAR Exchange. You receive the same benefits as primary and secondary REALTOR® members.

Dues for a primary REALTOR® membership are $340 per year.
Dues for secondary REALTOR® membership are $95 per year.
Dues for Affiliate membership are $195 per year. (This includes Community & Economic Development Affiliates)
All membership dues are prorated by the month you join.

You must be licensed and a member of a REALTOR® association in order to be a listing agent in the database. If you only wish to get access to the database in order to assist a broker within your company, you do not have to be a licensed REALTOR®.

The MNCAR Exchange is billed on a quarterly basis. For companies joining for the first time, there is a one-time $250 initiation fee and dues are prorated by the month you join.

Exchange member listings gain exposure outside of our system that non-member listings don’t receive. The vehicles for this exposure include:

• Metromsp.org – the greater Minneapolis chamber of commerce economic development website
• The monthly Leasing guide published by the Minnesota Real Estate Journal
• Commercialsource.com – the nation listing search site provided by NAR
• The public search page located on the mncar.org website
 

Exchange members also have access to the Broadcast Email System and MNCAR Exchange Sales Comp System.

There is a $100 reinstatement fee. Complete the new member application form and submit with payment (current quarter dues + reinstatement fee) to the MNCAR office.
