MNCAR – Monthly Spotlight- Elena Branca
1) Why did you join MNCAR and how long have you been a member?
I joined MNCAR while I was in college to build a foundation in commercial real estate. The education, especially Broker Basics, was beneficial, and access to experienced professionals helped me get up to speed before starting full time. Just as valuable, I met terrific members who welcomed me into the community and helped me grow my network. I have stayed involved ever since.
2) What would you tell other CRE professionals about the need to join MNCAR?
MNCAR is one of my favorite industry associations because it consistently deepens my knowledge through panels, market updates, and events. Beyond education, the relationships you build lead to collaboration and the sharing of best practices. If you want to accelerate your growth and stay plugged into the Minnesota market, you should join.
3) What is the most encouraging thing you see for the future of the CRE industry?
I am encouraged by how adaptable our industry is. Companies are rethinking the office as a hub for culture and connection, and we are seeing more intentional, amenitized workspaces. I am excited to see how technology and a new generation of professionals use data and design to make spaces more flexible, productive, and engaging.
4) Any advice for someone considering the CRE industry?
Jump in and give it your all. Seek out mentors (they are invaluable). Be curious every day. Show up to events, learn the fundamentals, and follow up consistently. You will learn something new every day and build momentum quickly.
5) Favorite CRE event of the year and why?
The MNCAR Expo. I started attending while I was in college, and it is still my favorite because the booth format makes it easy to meet people, discover new firms and services, and reconnect with the community, all in one place.
