Executive Vice President Mike Ohmes is responsible for leading NorthMarq’s Transaction and Advisory Services business. This group includes the company’s Brokerage, Investment Sales, Real Estate Advisory and Project Management services. 

Past Experience
Before his current role as executive vice president of the Transaction and Advisory Services group, Mike oversaw NorthMarq’s Brokerage division, which includes 72 sales and leasing professionals in the office, industrial, retail, land, and investment sales groups. He served in this position from 2000-2010.

Mike began his career with NorthMarq in 1991 as a broker in the office division. He was consistently among the top producers and received NorthMarq's Offshore Club designation for his performance every year from 1993-1999. Mike also earned the company’s President’s Award for his outstanding contributions to the company in 2000. In 2003 he was recognized by The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal as one of their “40 Under Forty.”

Before joining NorthMarq, Mike spent two and a half years with Griffin Real Estate Company in their office leasing and sales group.

Professional and Community Involvement
Mike is an active member of the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR). He is a past board member and past president of the Minnesota Commercial Property Exchange (MCPE). He holds the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) designation and served as the Mid-Continent Chapter President in 2006. Mike is a current trustee on the Board of Directors for the SIOR Foundation. He also holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. He also remains active as a past board member and fundraising committee member for Twins Cities TEC, a youth and young adult retreat program.

He is a graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., where he majored in economics and speech communications and has an MBA from the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota.
