J. graduated from the University of Denver, Colorado, where he majored in business, communications and sociology. He returned to the Twin Cities and starting working in the commercial real estate business in 1993. Over the next several years, he was able to purchase the interest of the owners’ properties that he was managing at that time. In 1997 he founded The Lindsay group, a licensed brokerage, investment management and development company specializing in all aspects of commercial real estate.
The Lindsay Group owns and operates over 25 properties in 15 different US states with focused expertise in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market. He has partnered with Fortune 500/ 100 companies and top national brand name retailers, servicing a variety of property owners in initiating and completing build-to-suit projects.
Actively involved in the commercial real estate industry, J. Lindsay has been a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) since 1999, designating him an expert in commercial and investment real estate. Mr. Lindsay served as President of the CCIM Minnesota-South Dakota Chapter in 2007 and serves as a Board Member at the Regional and National level. In 2008, Mr. Lindsay was honored by being asked to serve as an International Regional V.P. of CCIM.
J. Lindsay is an active participant of numerous commercial real estate associations including CCIM, MNCAR, ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers), MN Realtor, NAIOP and MSCA.

On the personal front, J lives with his wife, Jane and their six children. In his spare time, J can usually be found outside shoveling his backyard skating rink and coaching his kids’ sports teams.
